Now imagine me as a former marathon runner and a Spartan Super mud run enthusiast announcing that I am also a bodybuilder competing in the bikini division. The competition's trning regimen is incredibly intense - starting anywhere from 12 weeks before an event to a full year for major international shows like Arnold’s. Dly routines include strength trning, cardio exercises, and a strict diet focusing on protein, complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, vast amounts of vegetables, and a gallon or more of water per day.
The posing routine is the quirky part where athletes have to learn choreographed poses often ded by a coach or through classes for better presentation. If you are familiar with cheerleading or dance, it might be easier; otherwise, practice in front of your dog might ensure you don't trip over your heels.
Spray tan comes next on the list of quirks since we m to make our skin as dark as possible under stage lights to highlight muscle definition. The competition day is a bl of individual and group performances-groups based on height for Master's division women older than 35 and age groups for others.
The journey of bodybuilding has provided me with a reason to choose healthier over indulgent food choices like salads, broccoli, and fruits over cookies and creamy sauces. It has also helped in regning confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of control over my health after overcoming insecurities.
The thrill comes from continuously improving show by show and living an active lifestyle regardless of winning or losing. This spirit is contagious, encouraging anyone looking to explore healthier choices while challenging themselves physically.
